Implementing Opt-Out HIV Screening in Your Health Center: Understanding Opt-Out HIV Testing (2020). Resource Type: Publication. Description: Getting tested for HIV is a powerful step towards taking control of one’s sexual health. Opt-out HIV testing, sometimes referred to as universal screening, is defined as conducting HIV testing after notifying patients that the test will be conducted and that they may decline or defer testing. Description: As part of the COVID-19 Supplemental Funding activities for the Virginia Community Healthcare Association’s 330 Work Plan, the Association has been producing live learning sessions via Zoom at least once a month for health center communications and outreach staff. In each session, a contracted subject matter expert covers a communications and outreach topic pertinent to COVID-19 and crisis/emergency communications. Assessment of Health Professions Training in Health Centers (2019). Resource Type: Publication. Description: The Association of Clinicians for the Underserved (ACU) recognizes the immense impact that health professions training programs have in creating a prepared workforce and alleviating recruitment and retention challenges at health centers. With the support of HRSA’s Bureau of Primary Health Care, ACU’s STAR² Center facilitated a short assessment to gather information on health centers’ current experiences with health professions training activities. The assessment gathered information from health centers regardless of their experiences with health professions training activities at the time that they completed the survey in order to identify potential areas for resources, training, and technical assistance.
