Resource Summary: This webinar provides a broad overview of LGBTQ+ terms, gender identity concepts, cultural beliefs, health disparities, and barriers to accessing services, as well as best practice strategies for creating an affirming care experience using a Cultural Humility framework. Since clinicians and other healthcare workers in LGBTQ Care FQHCs and primary care organizations serve sexual and gender minority people every day these insight can help them better serve these populations.

Resource Details: Participants will learn how to develop an understanding about the differences between sex, gender, and sexual orientation; explore intersectional identities; develop an understanding of socially engineered trauma and its impact; and develop strategies to build affirming, inclusive language and approaches to meet the needs of gender diverse patients and their families.
