Resource Summary: In this recorded session, Dr. Poteat describes current guidelines for PrEP use and assessing risk for HIV acquisition with patients, reviews data on PrEP and HIV transmission among transgender people and identifies gender-affirming practices for PrEP implementation. This session also covers research on drug interactions between PrEP and hormones for trans patients. Dr. Poteat also provides an in-depth look at patient engagement in the PrEP continuum for patients across genders and ages, based on recent research.
