The Health Center Resource Clearinghouse provides a space for promising practices, identified and submitted by HRSA and HRSA-funded TTA partners for use with the health center population and/or in the health center setting.
What is a Promising Practice? A promising practice is a model, program or activity with evidence of effectiveness in small-scale interventions or with the potential to generate actionable data that could assist in taking the practice to scale and generalizing the results to diverse populations and settings.
Why pursue a national, public-facing Promising Practices effort? Through the identification and dissemination of operational promising practices, health center professionals can learn from one another about programs and services designed to enhance access to health care, and improve health outcomes and health equity, within the context of a learning health center system. Through the Clearinghouse site, health centers share success in “real-time” by showcasing an intervention, approach or practice with proven impact.
HRSA-Identified Promising Practices
To support health centers improve quality and provide more opportunities for peer-to-peer learning, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) gathers promising practices. Instituting promising practices enhances the care provided to any population, and are especially valuable for underserved and vulnerable populations.
HRSA collects promising practices through a variety of sources including (1) operational site visits (OSVs), (2) strategic partners such as National Cooperative Agreements, Primary Care Associations, and Health Center Controlled Networks, and (3) HRSA Project Officers.
