Description: This hub is designed to provide information and resources for farmworkers and their families on some of the most common infectious diseases and their associated vaccines such as COVID-19, influenza, tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, and tuberculosis.  The resources included in this hub provide information on the symptoms, transmission, prevention, and the importance of vaccination available in English, Spanish, and low-frequency and Indigenous languages such as Mam, Haitian Creole, K’iche, Purépecha, Mixteco, Triqui, among others.  Materials have gone through a process of assessment to ensure they are culturally and linguistically appropriate for agricultural workers.  More Details...

Strategies for Emergency Management of Chronic Conditions Among Agricultural Workers (2023). Resource Type: Publication. Description: People living with chronic conditions, and especially Migratory and Seasonal Agricultural Workers (MSAWs), can encounter particular threats to their health during an emergency event. NCFH has developed a resource to assist health center staff, clinical coordinators, and emergency managers with tools to assist MSAW chronic care patients, so that the worst outcomes of these events can be avoided. This checklist includes risk factors for chronic care patients during an emergency, action items to help patients prepare, and disease-specific recommendations for diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and chronic kidney disease. Medical Ethics and COVID-19: Naming and Addressing Moral Injury of Care during COVID-19 (2022). Resource Type: Publication. Description: There may be no definite answer to many ethical questions, but discussion and grounding in ethical principles allows space for providers to share their experiences and find solidarity with their peers. The Council held four listening sessions facilitated by subject matter experts. Each session provided framing on a different aspect of medical ethics considering COVID-19 with ample time for discussion. Topics included general medical ethics, ethics and vaccine hesitancy, ethics and emergency shelter, and moral injury.
