Within the respite setting, identification and accommodating cognitive impairment can be difficult while still focusing on a person’s recovery. This challenge increases when considering and adapting for the different types of cognitive impairment, such as traumatic brain injury or dementia, which require different approaches for care. To help programs address cognitive impairment, the National Institute for Medical Respite Care will be hosting a two-part webinar series on cognition.
