Resource Details: On November 4, 2021, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued the CMS Omnibus COVID-19 Health Care Staff Vaccination Interim Final Rule requiring all CMS facilities to implement staff vaccination requirements. As a result of multiple legal challenges, CMS has extended the compliance deadlines under the Interim Final Rule. On December 28, 2021, CMS released new guidance on the implementation of their IFR and guidelines to assess and maintain compliance with the COVID-19 vaccination requirements.
